Argument Prompt: In the voice of your assigned character, write at least 2-3 complete paragraphs which try to convince Achilles to come back and fight for the Greeks. Be sure to mention Agamemnon's gifts. Be sure to include at least one appeal - emotions, ethics and/or logic.
Additionally - Write a complete paragraph stating which appeal(s) you included and why that approach would work with your character.
Your group will present your arguments to "Achilles" in class tomorrow. You will be graded on the final draft of your argument and on the oral presentation in class.

Your personal response should address one of the following:
1. P. 69 Melpomene: "A crime has been committed - but whose crime?" Is Hades truly guilty? Or should we blame the two onlookers? What do you think? Develop.
2. P. 72 Typhon: "Thank you for this fleeting satisfaction in the midst of my suffering." What does Typhon mean? Is this a common feeling of people? ("Misery loves company.") Agree/Disagree. Develop.
3. P. 76 Hecate: "What a poor excuse for a mother you were - never to have taught your daughter fear." Agree/Disagree. Develop.

Monday, 9/24: Using your three sources from your creation myth project, finish writing your notes. You should have at least 5 new facts from each source. Come to class with bibliography information for your sources.
Tuesday, 9/25: Create a venn diagram to compare and contrast your group's creation myth to either the Norse or Greek creation myth.
Finish typing a complete, properly formatted, bibliography for your creation myth project. Each group member must type their own bibliography. Make sure to put your name, the date, and your class period on the bibliography.
Wednesday, 9/26: Finish working on your creation myth poster. Prepare your notecards for your presentation. Please see the assignment sheet for a complete list of tasks that need to be completed for the project.
