Welcome to 8th Grade English!
Student Expectations:
-
Come to class ready to learn. This includes being prepared for class with a 3-ring binder with lined paper, completed homework, agenda, a pencil or pen with blue or black ink, and the required text.
-
Actively and respectfully participate in class. Students are expected to raise their hand when they want to ask or answer a question. Students are also expected to listen and focus in class without disruption.
-
Contribute to the success of your own work. Students are expected to complete their own work. Academic dishonesty, including plagiarism of any kind, can result in an automatic "zero."
-
Complete homework daily and meet deadlines for short-term and long-term projects. Homework is assigned most nights. It gives students the opportunity to review and practice the material being learned without penalty for the occasional error. For credit, it must be complete, and turned in on the day and class period it is due. Late homework is accepted for excused absences only.
-
Be respectful of your classmates and your teacher. Disrespect and inappropriate conduct will result in a detention.
* Daily homework assignments are subject to change. Class time is provided for students to record assignments in their agenda.
* This website serves as an additional resource to check on assignments and updates announced in class.
* It is the responsibility of the students to regularly write down assignments and keep track of any changes in their agenda in class.
Materials are not uploaded to the website. It is the responsibility of the students to keep track of, follow, and use assignments that are handed out in class.
